About David

It is 6:51am. No, I am not just waking up; I have not seen sleep yet. You may or may not be wondering why… My assumption is that you are wondering why because you are reading the “About David” page. Well since you are interested, the reason I am still up at this very late hour is because I felt the need to learn a tough lesson about database management. I named a database “h”. It looked harmless enough, like something I created while I was testing. I saw that it was tagged as a “Wordpress” database, but I had another “Wordpress” database with a sane name, like “home” already. The fact is that I created “h” by mistake, then created “home” to replace the mistake, then USED “h” by accident to start building content for the site. This is a VERY bad thing to do. It lends to awful things like deleting a weekend worth of writing and configuration work in a blink of an eye. :-(

Allow me to formally introduce myself. Hello, I am David and I am a foolish, tired, and exasperated software engineer. There is nothing more to know about me. That one sentence says a mouthful. Perhaps some day when I’m feeling a bit less self-deprecating I’ll write something more cheery for this page.
